Terms and Conditions

These terms apply when Joltwebs (“joltwebs.com”, “I”, “me”) designs, builds, hosts or looks after a website for you (“you”, “the client”). Wherever a price, post or advert says “T&Cs apply”, it means these terms. If anything in your written quote differs from these terms, the quote applies.

Prices and quotes

• Every project starts with a written, fixed quote that lists the package, any add-ons and the total.
• Prices shown on joltwebs.com, on social media and in adverts are starting prices (“from”). The quote you receive is the final price for the scope it describes.
• If a post or advert shows a different price to joltwebs.com, the price on joltwebs.com on the day you ask for a quote applies, unless the post describes a specific offer.
• A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
• Anything not listed in the quote is extra and will be quoted before any work is done. Nothing extra is charged without your written approval (a WhatsApp message or email counts).
• Custom work, such as online shops, booking systems, member areas or other custom features, is always quoted separately.

What the packages include

• What each package includes is listed on joltwebs.com at the time of your quote, and the quote confirms it.
• A landing page is one page. A business website includes the number of pages stated in your quote. Extra pages are an add-on.
• Online payments are set up on your own payment account (for example Stripe or PayPal). You open and own that account, you pay its fees directly, and you are responsible for your products, prices, refunds and the terms of sale on your own website.
• Each package includes one training session after launch, online or in person, of up to one hour, to show you how to update your site. It should be used within 30 days of launch.

Add-ons

• Add-ons are optional extras added to your quote, at the prices listed on joltwebs.com at the time of your quote. Prices marked “from” are confirmed in the quote.
• A rush delivery fee is a percentage of the build price and depends on availability. It covers moving your project ahead of others, not shortening the time you need for feedback.
• Copywriting is an add-on. Without it, you provide the text for your website, and I help shape it to fit the design.

First chat and planning session

The first chat about your project is free and with no obligation. For larger custom projects, I may offer a paid planning session. Its price and length are agreed in advance. If you go ahead with the project within 60 days, the fee is deducted from the project price. If you do not go ahead, the fee is not refundable once the session has taken place.

Offers and promotions

From time to time I may run an offer, such as a launch price or a free extra. Each offer states what it includes, who it is for and when it ends, or how many places are available. Offers apply to new projects agreed while the offer is running, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be combined with other offers or referral rewards unless the offer says so.

Referral codes

If someone recommended joltwebs.com to you, they may have sent you a referral link. Any reward that comes with it, such as a discount or an extra service, applies to your first project only and, for discounts, to the build price only, not to domains, hosting, email or care plans. The reward is shown on your quote; if it is not, tell me before you accept the quote. Referral rewards have no cash value and cannot be combined with other offers. The person who referred you may receive a thank-you payment from joltwebs.com; this never changes your price.

Payment

• You do not pay anything until you have seen and approved the design.
• 50% of the project price is due when you approve the design. The remaining 50% is due before the site goes live.
• Invoices are payable within 7 days by bank transfer, unless agreed otherwise.
• The site is published on your domain once the final payment has been received.
• Prices include VAT where VAT applies.

Timelines

Delivery times, such as “live in 7 days”, are estimates for a typical project of that type. Your quote gives your expected date. They assume you send content and feedback promptly. If I am waiting on you, the timeline moves by the same amount. If a project is paused by the client for more than 30 days, I may invoice for the work completed so far.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about your business.
• Send your content (text, photos, logos) by the date agreed in your quote, unless you have chosen add-ons that cover it.
• Make sure you have the right to use any text, photos, logos and other material you send me.
• Check the site before launch, including prices, opening hours, contact details and legal text on your own site.

Revisions

Each package includes the number of revision rounds stated on joltwebs.com and in your quote. A round is one consolidated list of changes. Further rounds, or changes that go beyond the agreed scope, are charged as an add-on or quoted separately.

Ownership

• Once the project is paid in full, you own your website’s design, the content created for you and your domain.
• WordPress, themes, plugins, fonts and stock images remain the property of their makers and are used under their licences. Paid licences needed for your site are listed in your quote.
• Until full payment, the work remains mine.
• I may show the finished site in my portfolio and on social media unless you ask me not to.

Credit link

Unless your quote says otherwise, I add a small “Built by joltwebs.com” credit with a link to joltwebs.com in the footer of your website. It is a modest line of text that does not change your design. If you would prefer your site without it, say so before the project starts and we will note it in your quote. Please do not remove the credit after launch without agreeing it with me first.

Domain, hosting and email

• Domain, hosting and business email are optional. If you already have them, I work with yours.
• If I arrange them for you, they are billed yearly in advance, separately from the build, at the prices in your quote. Wherever possible, the domain is registered in your name.
• I will remind you before each renewal. Prices can change at renewal if the provider’s price changes; I will tell you before renewing. If a renewal is not paid, the service may be suspended or expire, and an expired domain may be lost.
• You can move your domain, hosting or email elsewhere at any time. I will hand over everything you need.

Third-party services

Hosting providers, domain registrars, email providers and booking or payment tools have their own terms and prices, which apply to you directly. I am not responsible for their outages, changes or fees.

Fixes and changes after launch

For 30 days after launch, I fix any errors in the work I delivered free of charge. This does not cover new features, content changes or problems caused by changes made by someone else.

Support after launch is optional. You can look after your site yourself, choose a care plan, or ask for help when you need it. Work outside a care plan is charged at the hourly rate shown on joltwebs.com, in 30-minute blocks, and quoted before I start. Urgent work needed within 24 hours is charged at the urgent rate and depends on availability; I will tell you before starting whether I can meet the deadline.

Care plans

• Care and Care+ plans are for websites built with WordPress, whether or not I built them.
• What each plan includes is described on joltwebs.com and in your quote.
• Plans are priced per month and billed in advance, monthly or yearly as stated in your quote.
• You can cancel with one month’s notice. If you paid for a year in advance, unused full months are refunded, unless your quote gave a yearly discount, in which case the remaining months are not refundable. There is no minimum term unless your quote says so.
• Hours of changes included in a plan are for that month and do not carry over.
• Reply times are on working days (Monday to Friday, excluding Maltese public holidays) and are targets, not guarantees.
• Work outside your plan, such as new pages or features, is quoted separately, or charged at the hourly rate shown on joltwebs.com.
• For a website I did not build, a one-off site check-up is charged before the plan starts. If the check-up finds problems, I quote the fix before doing anything. I can decline a plan if the site cannot be maintained safely.
• Updates can occasionally cause problems. Under a plan, I fix problems caused by updates I install at no extra cost. Backups are kept for the time stated in your plan.

Cancellation

You can cancel a project at any time in writing. You pay for the work completed up to that point; anything you paid beyond that is refunded.

If you are a consumer (buying for yourself, not for a business), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing to the work without giving a reason. If you ask me to start during those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point.

Liability

I take care with every project, but I cannot guarantee search rankings, sales or uninterrupted operation of third-party services. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim. I am not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Maltese law.

Using this website

The content of joltwebs.com belongs to joltwebs.com. Personalised pitch pages are prepared for one business only, are not public, and are not a binding offer until confirmed in a written quote.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version in force on the day you accept your quote applies to your project. For care plans and yearly services, I will tell you about important changes at least 30 days before they apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the courts of Malta have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep any rights the law of your country of residence gives you.
