Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage used on joltwebs.com, what each one is for and how long it stays. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is handled.
The short version
- joltwebs.com does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.
- Visit statistics are counted without cookies.
- Analytics and heatmap cookies are only set if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
Cookies and storage that are always used
These are needed for the site to work or to remember a choice you made, so they do not need your consent.
- jw_consent (your browser’s local storage, set by joltwebs.com): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so the banner does not keep coming back. Kept until you clear your browser data.
- jw_theme (local storage, set by joltwebs.com): remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Kept until you clear your browser data.
- wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_…, wordpress_test_cookie (cookies, set by WordPress): only for the people who run the site when they log in. Visitors never get these. Kept for the session, or up to 14 days if “Remember me” is ticked.
What is not stored
- No advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.
- The anonymous visit statistics use no cookies or browser storage at all.
- Referral links carry their code in the web address only, never in a cookie.
Changing your choice
- Use the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page to accept or decline analytics again.
- You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The site still works without them; only your light/dark choice and cookie choice are forgotten.
